Our design process relies heavily on the establishment of a close collaboration with clients to ensure a full understanding of their needs and goals. Our first step in every project is to find out how our client’s project stakeholders can be best engaged – be it workshops, small group sessions, or one-one interviews – and then customize a process to accomplish it.
Early in the process we produce renderings to communicate concepts for both building functionality and aesthetics. Many of our clients don’t have extensive experience with architectural drawings so the provision of clear and understandable imagery is important to communicate not only general layout but the feel and experience of proposed new spaces.
All projects at KCBA are documented in Building Information Modeling software which in addition to many project coordination efficiencies enables us to produce photo-realistic renderings of new spaces. These tools further enhance our design collaboration so clients can envision and make informed decisions related to all aspects of their new spaces.
Through our collaborative process and use of graphic tools, upon entering completed buildings for the first time many of our clients have remarked that they feel like they’re visiting a familiar place where they’ve been many times!
