Conversion of Two Assisted Living Wings to Memory Support
KCBA planned and designed a complex renovation of this senior living facility. It entailed the conversion of two assisted living wings to memory support including a new separate dining room, activity room, lounge, and exterior wander garden. Other assisted living areas in the building were renovated including relocation of the resident services suite (including the nurse station and medical rooms), a new bistro, new beverage area, new private dining room, lobby and reception area renovations, staff office relocation, and new furniture and fixtures. New mechanical systems were installed to support new spaces. Areas under construction were occupied at all times which presented a particular challenge as the nurse call, wander management, and security systems were replaced simultaneously as part of the project.
