Following a devastating fire, KCBA provided architectural services for the redesign and reconstruction of this 12,000 sq. ft. office building. The project parameters included re-using the existing foundations and 50% of the structural steel while providing an expansion for additional administrative functions. The new facility features expansive natural light as windowed offices are located on the perimeter, clustered around a central work area. This organization allows for easier communication between administration and staff and offers clear and open circulation patterns. At the district’s request, low-maintenance building materials and finishes were utilized to enhance durability and reduce required upkeep. The restoration was completed in an aggressive nine month timeframe in order to quickly restore full school district operations.
