This high school renovation and expansion project was undertaken to increase student capacity and provide new state-of-the-art educational space. A key challenge was negotiating site constraints as the existing campus was almost completely built-out and portions were restricted by significant slopes. The design solution featured a 12,000 sq. ft. renovation of the existing kitchen and serving area and an 86,000 sq. ft. cafeteria and three-story classroom block addition. The scale and materials of the addition reflect the campus character and blend seamlessly with the existing building. A prevalence of glass allows natural light to illuminate both the new classrooms as well as the new cafeteria.
